ArmInfo. On October 15, Chairman of the State Water Committee of Armenia Arsen Harutyunyan received Zara Chatinyan, Local Representative, KfW Office Yerevan.
The press office of the State Water Committee reports that Zara Chatinyan informed the newly-appointed head of the Committee of the programs being implemented by the German KfW Bank. The most important program is the investment project on improvement of the water supply and waste water disposal system. The design work is underway and a consultant is currently being chosen. KfW's financial participation in this project is 30mln EUR.
Chatinyan also pointed at the program on construction of a biological treatment plant in Shirak province. The total budget of the project is 4.5mln EUR. The construction will last 3 years.
Arsen Harutyunyan, in turn, stressed the significance of KfW's activities in Armenia and expressed willingness to expand the cooperation. "KfW Bank takes a serious approach to the tenders. The tender processes should be organized accurately and should meet the criteria," he said, noting that there should be as many participants as possible. This will enable a good choice and transparency, he said.
To note, KfW also finances a project on improvement of community infrastructures in Armenia. The budget of the project is 74mln EUR. The relevant tenders have already been held and the relevant contracts have been concluded.
