ArmInfo. In Jan-Sept 2016, metallurgy output in Armenia experienced 5.8% year-over-year drop versus 6.5% growth in Jan-Sept 2015. The ferromolybdenum output in Armenia rose by 8.1% to 4 614 tons. The National Statistical Service of Armenia reports that in September alone the ferromolybdenum output made up 718 tons (12% more than in August 2016).
In Jan-Sept 2016, the output of molybdenum concentrate grew by 0.5% to 7 970 tons (up 6.7% to 925 tons in Sept 2016); blister copper output rose by 13.7% to 9 104 tons in Jan-Sept 2016 (down 9.4% to 1035 tons in Sept 2016); copper concentrate output grew by 31.8% to 293.3 thsd tons in Jan-Sept 2016 (up 12.3% to 35.5 thsd tons in Sept 2016).
The aluminum foil output in Armenia fell by 0.4% to 22 143 tons in Jan-Sept 2016 versus Jan-Sept 2015 (down 5.4% to 2207 tons in Sept 2016); the output of steel pipes fell by 31.7% to 5401 tons (up 32.5% to 1060 tons in Sept 2016); zinc concentrate output declined by 33.9% to 6147 tons (up 14.4% to 931 tons in Sept 2016).
All metals manufactured in Armenia are exported mostly to Europe and the United States.
To note, in 2015 the metallurgy sector of Armenia reduced its output by 15%. Particularly, the output of ferromolybdenum dropped by 14.6%, molybdenum concentrate - by 11.6%, rolled aluminum - by 45.7%, zinc concentrate - by 23%. At the same time, the output of blister copper increased by 18.2%, copper concentrate - by 64.1%, aluminum foil - by 1.4%, and steel pipes - by 6.7%.
