ArmInfo. Platforms will be created at the Armenian embassies in 15 countries to demonstrate the IT potential of Armenia, Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan said at the Government's sitting on November 10.
Karapetyan said that IT representatives requested him to do that. The given initiative will require no additional financial allocations, because they are going to cover all the costs. "The goal is to make it clear that they are acting on behalf of the state," the Prime Minister said, urging the minister of economic development and investments and the business community to consider creation of such platforms without opening separate Armenian trade representations abroad. According to the data for 2015, there are nearly 500 IT companies in Armenia. The IT sector ensures 20-25% annual growth. The share of IT in Armenia's GDP is 3.8%. The IT development strategy envisages ensuring USD 1 billion turnover in the IT sector by 2018.
