ArmInfo. Beaujolais Nouveau Day is traditionally marked in France on the third Thursday in November. On November 17 the French Embassy to Armenia held the celebration of "Beaujolais Nouveau" wine for the 8th time, attaching it to the 10th anniversary of "Air France" company's representation in Armenia.
Beaujolais nouveau is a red wine made from Gamay grapes produced in the Beaujolais region of France. Under French law, the wine is released at 12:01 a.m., just weeks after the wine's grapes have been harvested. Parties are held throughout the country to celebrate the first wine of the season.
Beaujolais Nouveau celebration has become quite popular and is celebrated not only in France but also in many other countries. Each year around 7 mln bottles of Beaujolais Nouveau wine are exported. The main importers are Japan, China and the USA.
