In February-March 2017  new procedures on medicines recipe formulas and sale will become effective. 

ArmInfo. New procedures on medicines recipe formulas and sale will become effective in February-March 2016, Sergey Khachatryan, The Deputy Health Minister stated at a press conference held in Yerevan on December 16.

He mentioned, that from 2016 December 15 new Law on Medicines became effective, assuming the sale of medicines based on physicians recipes.  According to him, the law assumes also adoption of corresponding regulations, that are under discussions by now and will be submitted for approval in February. "A detailed procedure of  medicines retail sale is under discussion," the Deputy Minister

stated.

Khachatryan accentuated also that, once the law becomes effective, 50% of registered 4,5 thousand kinds of medicines will be released without recipes. At the same time the Deputy Minister stated that in  medicines turnover chain the most vulnerable point is the  patient. Hence, the Ministry will do its best to protect him from medicines of low quality.  " This new Law is aimed at prevention of self-treatment and to improve the drugstore services,"  he said.

To note, according to the new Law  on Drgs, all the antibiotics and  psychotropic drugs will be released only based on physician's recipe. The Law assumes also large penalties for the slae of medicines not registered in Armenia.
