ArmInfo. On 1 Feb 2017 the electricity tariffs in Armenia will drop, according to today's decision of the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC).
When presenting the draft decision, Head of the PSRC Department of Tariff Policy Garegin Baghramyan said that for the ultimate consumers the tariff will be reduced by 1.22 AMD per 1 kWh, and for vulnerable groups - by 6.2 AMD. He noted that after the licensed entity (Gazprom Armenia) submitted an application for the gas tariff revision for thermal power plants, based on the Armenian Law "On Energy" the Regulator initiated revision of the tariffs of services provided by the companies generating electricity and rendering relevant services to the ultimate consumer.
Thus, on 1 Feb 2017, for the consumers receiving electricity from 110KV substations the daytime tariff will make up 33.48 AMD per 1 kWh versus the current 34.7 AMD. The nighttime tariff will make up 29.48 AMD per 1 kWh versus the current 30.7 AMD. For the consumers getting electricity from 35KV substations the daytime tariff will be 35.98 AMD per 1 kWh versus the current 37.2 AMD, and the nighttime tariff - 31.98 AMD per 1 kWh versus the current 33.2 AMD. For those receiving electric power from 6(10) KV substations the daytime tariff will be 41.98 AMD per 1 kWh versus the current 43.2 AMD, and the nighttime tariff will be 31.98 AMD versus the current 33.2 AMD. For those receiving electricity from 0.38 KV substations the daytime tariff will make up 44.98 AMD per 1 kWh versus the current 46.2 AMD, and the nighttime tariff will be 34.98 AMD versus the current 36.2 AMD. For vulnerable groups the tariff will be reduced from the current 46.2 AMD to 40 AMD, and the nighttime tariff - from 36.2 AMD to 30 AMD (all prices include VAT).
ArmInfo previously reported that on 24 June 2016 the PSRC took a decision to reduce the electricity tariff for ultimate consumers by 2.58 AMD or by 5.9%. On 1 Aug 2016, the daytime tariff was fixed at 46.20 AMD, and the nighttime tariff - at 36.20 AMD per 1kWh.
