ArmInfo. The key task in the Armenian agriculture is to produce high-quality products, Minister of Agriculture Ignaty Arakelyan said at a meeting on issues of procurement of grapes, vegetables and fruit.
As the press office of the Ministry reports, Arakelyan stressed that the villagers should be sure that there are no problems with procurement. Otherwise, he noted, the development of agricultural production will be endangered. He urged the companies to repay the debts for the previously supplied products within the shortest time possible. In 2016, the procuring companies' total debts to the farmers amounted to 1505.6 mln AMD versus 105.6 mln AMD for 2015.
The representatives of the processing companies pointed out that they have drafted a debt redemption schedule and will repay the debts according to that schedule. They also raised a lot of issues related to provision of excise stamps, sale of finished products, etc.
The minister assured the participants that all the problems raised will be discussed with the relevant structures and the solutions will be found.
