Expert: national air carrier availability will positively affect tourism sector in Armenia.

ArmInfo. The availability of national air carrier will positively impact the tourism sector in Armenia, Marina Krpyan, the President of Armenia Travel Company and the member of Armenian Touring Operators Association stated, answering ArmInfo reporter's question.

"The availability of national carrier will lead to the competition among actual air companies and will decrease the flights prices, which will secure the increase of tourist flows in Armenia," she mentioned. In her opinion, state authorities should show consequent approach in this respect, taking into consideration the fact that the tourism development is one of the priorities of the Government policy.  Krpyan also referred to the performance of  Pobeda lowcoster  at Shirak airport. "The performance of this lowcoster will also positively affect the tourism sector, because Gyumri has  large potential in this sector and there are large opportunities to compound touring packages comprising this city," she accentuated. At that she mentioned that a flights prices reduction is being observed, which is beneficiary for Armenian touring operatoirs.

To mention, earlier Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan stated, that Gyumri has serious potential  to become the tourism capital  of ArmeniaMoreover, he accentuated that some options for Gyumri development and using opportunities related to Pobeda lowcoster  are under discussion .

To recall, on December 5 Pobeda low budget company launched flights from Vnukovo (Moscow) to the second  largest Armenian city - Gyumri, at the price of 999 RR including all the taxes.
