Armenian Prime  Minister: In Armenian agriculture state aid should have a multiple effect

ArmInfo. A  number of projects is being implemented inKotayk marsz in respect to hot house framing and drip irrigation. This was stated by Karen Guloyan, the  Head of Kotayk District during the discussions on district communities prospective held in Tsakhkadzor on February 2 within the participation of Karen karapetyan, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.

The Governor mentioned, that in 2017 it is planned to implement appropriate works on optimization of education and health care systems. Particularly, 90 positions will be reduced in the sector of education and district administration, which will give an option to save AMD 60 mln annually. Within the framework of of health care system another 50 positions will be cancelled, which will save up to AMD 44 mln.

In 2017 it is planned also to set  solar energy panels in  some communities  and to set new heat house farms, implement technologies for intensive gardens setting and to develop tourism.  The Prime Minister offered also to hold discussions on works done per sectors as well. Particularly, he referred to 5 year term communities development projects, business environment improvement and involvement of investments.  

Officials responsible for agriculture, health care, education sectors submitted the appropriate  strategic data per sectors, as well as the development prospective. Particularly it was informed that in the agricultural sector the level of soil utilization is still  low. In response, the Prime Minister offered to  modify a separate development project for the district communities. He also mentioned that all the  projects  implemented  by the Government will be aimed at logical initiatives  to  decrease costs and increase benefits.

"Agriculture is a business. Meanwhile, we use to thin that it will not develop through subsidization. Of course, we will help farmers, but the aid will be aimed at prospective projects, because, for instance, from year to year the surface of utilized soil is being increased, but neither farmers nor the state are satisfied with that.  At the same time  the subsidization funds  keep growing, which is an additional load for the Government. Let us try to change the quality, to understand which path is proper," Karapetyan said.
