By the instruction of Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan, a pilot program will shortly be launched in Lernamerdz community of Armavir province. The Government has already approved programs on supplying the community with hot water and water heating units. It is planned to set up an operating fund of 40 mln AMD for that purpose.
Deputy Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources Hayk Harutyunyan says that the program aims to satisfy each family's need for hot water. "The financial means accumulated in the operating fund will further be spent on other energy efficient programs for households - installation of solar photo voltage panels at houses, biogas production, etc.," said Harutyunyan.
The program will allow not only satisfying the population's needs, but also creating prerequisites for formation of the first solar and sustainably developing community. Harutyunyan added that such programs will be implemented first of all in the communities, which are not supplied with gas.
