ArmInfo. From Jan-March 2017, in comparison with the same period of 2016, the volume of mutual trade of EEU countries grew by almost one third, and deliveries to third countries in absolute terms increased by $ 30 billion, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev stated during meeting of the Eurasian intergovernmental council in Kazan.
To note, following the results of the event, the participants, including Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan, agreed on cross-border trade, the development of the digital economy, and support for small and medium-sized businesses.
"The more directions are connected to the real, and not to the paper integration, the more the opportunities for each participant to get the effect from the common market, from joint projects, and finally from the whole EEU, the better. These advantages are not fictions. The situation in the world economy remains very difficult. And even with this, not very favorable world situation, our indicators are improving, " Russian Prime Minister stressed.
Medvedev added that, although EEU countries managed to remove the main obstacles to the movement of goods, services, capital and labor, barriers still remain. Therefore, within the next few years, partners in the Eurasian TOP 5 are going to remove about two dozen restrictions: in industry, agriculture, energy, and technical regulation.
Another very important platform for the cooperation of the EEU countries, according to Medvedev, is the food market. And by the end of 2016, agriculture as a whole in the five showed an increase of 4%. Medvedev called for using this advantage more productively - to coordinate national agro-industrial policies, to use modern technologies, including innovative developments.
"We have already agreed on unified rules for the provision of industrial subsidies, on voluntary coordination with the partners of measures to support the producer. Today we will give this work a legal assessment," Russian Prime Minister said.
