For the first three months of 2017, Armenia increased supplies of export production to EEU countries for4 40%, Hovhannes Azizyan, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments told the journalists within the fields of annual EEU forum: Armenia-Cooperation. Deputy Minister informed on intention of the state to double export extents during two years to EEU coutries' markets. According to him, one of the reasons of positive tendency of export production growth is that Armenian businessman feels comfortable at EEU fields. Particularly, he informed that in 2016 Armenian export to EEU markets grew for 65% annually, noting that such a tendency was registered in 2014. "Within EEU, Armenian production demands special advertising", he explained.
At the same time, Azizyan noted that Armenian exports to the markets of third countries the previous year increased by 13% in annual terms, despite the overall downward trend of export supplies in the world. "An important task of any union, including the EEU, is to promote domestic cooperation and export products to third countries. And this is our main goal, "he stressed. In this regard, Azizyan noted that Rusal Armenal (Armenian daughter "Rusal") could become a good platform and an example for cooperation. "You know that we have a regime of trade preferences with the EU (GSP +) and Armenia can export products to the EU countries without a customs duty of 7%, which makes the goods so competitive. Russian companies can take advantage of this", he noted.
At the same time, Azizyan informed that by the end of the year, the Ministry intends to pass negotiations with Chinese partners on implementing GSP+ regime on important Armenian products. And as additional markets, deputy Minister noted the Persian Gulf countries, which, according to him, have big opportunities from the point of view of purchasing power.
To note, third annual Business Forum Eurasian Economic Union: Armenia - cooperation. Was held in Tsakhkadzor, which gathered over 400 participants, in particular representatives of Government members, various unions and associations, as well as heads of large companies of Armenia, the Russian Federation, Belarus, Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic, and others.
Such events contribute to the establishment of direct mutually beneficial production and trade cooperation between businessmen of different countries and regions. Within the framework of the Forum there will be a plenary session, sectional sessions moderated by representatives of the EEU member countries together with representatives of Armenian state entities, as well as an exchange of contacts and bilateral business meetings. The main aimes of the event are the organization of negotiations between representatives of companies from the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, including in an informal setting, finding new business ties, discussing the most important economic issues with Government representatives, expanding the scope of business activities, dialogue with Government officials for interaction in the issue of increasing exports from the EEU.
