ArmInfo. Armenian metallurgy field in Jan-April 2017 went up by 9.4% growth from the 10.1% decline in Jan-April 2016. According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, in the reporting period the production of ferromolybdenum in Armenia increased by 34.6% annually amounting to 2 439 tons, versus the decline of 15.8% a year ago. Only for April, ferro- molybdenum produced 571 tons, which is 19.1% less than the March volume.
For the first four months, the production of molybdenum concentrate increased by 11.1% per annum - up to 3,659 tons, against the decline of 13.3% a year earlier. Only in April production fell by 18.3% - up to 834 tons. The production of converter (rough) copper declined in annual terms by 7.7% to 3,948 tons (versus 29.2% growth a year earlier), with monthly growth of 3.7% to 1034 tons. The production of copper concentrate increased by 9.1% - to 136.2 thousand tons, versus growth of 30% a year earlier. In monthly terms (April to March), copper concentrate production decreased by 10.7% to 34.2 thousand tons. The production of zinc concentrate increased during the reporting period by 33.4% per annum to 2,845 tons, versus the 54.1% decline a year earlier. In April, the production of zinc concentrate fell by 26.9% to 675 tons.
The production of aluminum foil for the reporting period increased by 0.5% per annum - up to 9,939 tons, versus the 5.5% decline a year ago. In April, aluminum foil production increased by 5.3% to 2,634 tons. The production of aluminum rolled products for the reporting period amounted to 128 tons with an annual growth of 42.7 times, against a decline of 66.7% a year earlier. Only in April the volume of aluminum rolled steel production increased 14 times to 71 tons.
The production of steel pipes in the reporting period in 2017 increased by 67.8% per annum to 2,914 tons (versus a decline of 50.3% a year ago), but only in April the growth was registered at 1.5% - up to 889 tons. Data on the production of molybdenum briquettes in the statistics of the reporting period are absent, while a year earlier in the same period the volume was 245 tons.
All metals produced in Armenia are exported, mainly to Europe and the USA.
