ArmInfo. During the work meeting in the Ministry of Agriculture of Armenia, the state program of subsidizing the interest rates of targeted loans for the introduction of drop irrigation systems was discussed, the department's official statement reads.
Presenting main points of the program, Agriculture Minister Ignatiy Araqelyan noted that it provides for effective use of water, land and energy resources of Armenia, growth and improvement of crop quality, expansion of sown land. "We consider, by partially subsidizing the interest rates of targeted loans, to increase the level of credit availability," he stressed.
According to him, the Agricultural Development Fund will monitor the implementation of the state program and, if necessary, provide advice to farmers. To ensure effective implementation of the program, it was decided within seven days to submit relevant proposals regarding the issues raised.
According to the source, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Minister Ashot Harutyunyan and Robert Makaryan, Head of the Land Use and Reclamation Department of Armenian Ministry of Agriculture Arthur Baghdasaryan, lecturer of the National Agrarian University Gegham Navoyan, representatives of companies involved in the implementation of drip irrigation systems, farmers, etc. took part in the meeting.
