ArmInfo. The volume of attracted investments by Armenian banks in annual calculations increased by 22.5% reaching 2.434 trillion AMD by May 1 2017.
According to Central Bank data, provided by National Statistical Service of Armenia, in the structure of investments the currency component increased in annual basis by 14% to 1.527 trillion AMD, and the AMD- by 40.3% to 907 billion AMD. The share of foreign currency deposits in the total volume of bank deposits traditionally prevails over the share of dram deposits - 62.7% and 37.3%, respectively.
In the banking sector, the share of residents was 74.7% or 1.814 trillion AMD (with an annual growth of 17.4%), and not residents - 25.3% or 616.7 billion AMD (with an annual growth of 40.7%).
In the structure of deposits from residents, the share of on demand deposits was 27.4% or 498 billion AMD, while the share of term deposits - 72.6% or 1.3 trillion AMD. Demand deposits increased by 14.9% year- on-year, and time deposits - by 18.3%.
Investments of population in the Armenian banks was 1.2 trillion AMD by May 2017, increasing in annual basis by 16.7%.
According to data, in average, interests rates on AMD deposits was on the level of 10.15% by May 2017, against 10.77% a year earlier. (Exchange rate by 28.04.2017 was 484.68 AMD/USD1).
