ArmInfo. As of today, around 32,5 thousand tons of fresh fruits and vegetables, Robert Makaryan, Deputy Agricuture Minister stated on June 7 at a press conference.
According to Deputy Minister's notes, the main saes market for Armenian agricultural production is still Russia - in 2017 about 31,5 thousand tons of fresh fruits and vegetables were shipped to Russian markets.
For today, approximately 17 thousand tons of tomatoes were exported as well. In 15-20 days the apricot exporting process is expected to be launched. The Vice Minister avoided making any forecasts, and stated only that, "normal volumes of export will be reached if the weather does not deliver any surprises."
To mention, in annual view the export of fruit and vegetable products in Armenia increased for 83%, while the import of these products decreased for 14%. At that, during first 4 months of 2017, the export in this sector decreased for 51,6% within the import growth for 20,8%.
