ArmInfo. Collection of taxes in the I quarter was made ahead of. The Armenian Ministry of Finance Vardan Aramyan stated this at the June 16 press conference.
He noted that according to the results of the first quarter, 13 billion drams more taxes were directed to the state treasury than was envisaged. According to the minister, this trend may continue until the end of this year, if there are no force majeure circumstances related to external economic trends. In this regard, he added that in April taxes were collected for 107.5 billion AMD (against 97 billion AMD a year earlier), instead of the envisaged 100 billion AMD. He added that in May 2017 the amount of collected taxes amounted to 92.4 billion AMD instead of 91.9 billion AMD for the same period a year earlier.
According to him, budget revenues for 2017 were projected in the volume of 1 trillion. 135 billion AMD, but the government managed to adjust this figure to 1 trillion 197 billion AMD. Aramyan noted that outstripping the rate of tax collection gives grounds to believe that by the end of the year it will be possible to fulfill this indicator. Concerning the expenses, the minister said that by the results of the first quarter it was possible to save 26 billion AMD, stressing that the expenses in April-May were carried out according to plans, whereas in June their increase is already envisaged.
