ArmInfo. The currency interbank of Armenia increased its volume only by 6.5% from June 12 to June 16, after a decline of 40% a week earlier. At the same time, the vector on the intra-bank foreign exchange market turned from a descending one to an upward trend, with high rates of EUR and RUR transactions being observed for sale, while USD were more actively sold than bought up. Against this background, the exchange currency market continues to empty for the third week in a row.
As a result, in the reporting week, the AMD against the USD was replaced by the mood from devaluation to strengthening - from 482.5 to 481.5 AMD/USD1, having outlined a revaluation and to the EUR - from 541 to 537 AMD/EUR1, while continuing to strengthen to the RUR - with 8.5 to 8.3 AMD/RUR1. A year earlier, on June 16, 2016, the exchange rate of the AMD to the USD was 478 AMD/USD1, to the EUR - 539 AMD/EUR1, and to the EUR - 7.4 AMD/RUR1, which, in comparison with the current rates, indicates the annual devaluation of the AMD to the USD and RUR, with strengthening to the EUR.
