Currency component in credit portfolio of Armenian banking system  continues to dominate - 62.7% by June 2017

ArmInfo. In credit portfolio of  banking system of Armenia by June 2017, the lion's share is  maintained for the currency component - 62.7% or 1.445 trillion AMD,  the absolute value of which increased by 9.8% per annum (excluding  prolonged and overdue loans).

The share of AMD loans is 37.3% or  860.6 billion AMD, with an annual growth of 27.9%. According to the  Central Bank of Armenia, provided by ArmInfo National Statistical  Service of  Armenia, the total extent of bank lending increased by  June 2017 at 14.4% annually, amounting to 2.458 trillion AMD. Without  taking into account the prolonged and overdue loans, the credit  investments of the banking system of Armenia increased by 15.9% per  annum, amounting to 2.305 trillion AMD. 

According to statistics, the average interest rate on AMD loans by  June 2017 was formed at the level of 15.20% (versus 18.14% a year  ago). The calculated exchange rate of the dram to the dollar as of  May 31, 17 was 482 $ / $ 1.
