ArmInfo. Armenia's cooperation with the European Investment Bank is carried out effectively. On July 27, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Karen Karapetyan received the EIB Vice President Vazil Khudak.According to the press service of the Armenian government, during the meeting the Prime Minister stressed the importance of implementing programs in such areas as energy, transport, water supply, solid waste management.
Karen Karapetyan pointed to the reforms implemented by the government, which are aimed at increasing efficiency, creating more favorable conditions for the business, attracting investments.In his turn, Vazil Khudak noted that the EIB is ready to continue mutually beneficial cooperation with the Armenian government on joint programs and new projects that will assist in the development of Armenia.The interlocutors discussed the process of implementation of programs in energy, transport, private sector financing, fixed further steps and prospects for expanding cooperation.Earlier it was reported that the European Investment Bank intends to invest about 212 million euros in Armenia.
Moreover, only in the last three years the EIB has significantly increased the volume of investments in Armenia. The cooperation of the bank with Armenia is based on three priority areas: energy supply, development and support of infrastructures, support for SMEs.
