ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan held a working lunch on August 24 with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who is on an official visit to Yerevan, the Armenian government's press office reported.
The interlocutors highly estimated the level of relations between the two friendly countries and noted the importance of further development of mutually beneficial cooperation.
Emphasizing that there is a great potential in economic relations, Karapetyan and Berdimuhamedov exchanged views on opportunities to deepen cooperation in energy, tourism, agriculture, transport and other areas.
According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Turkmenistan in the first half of 2017 was $ 2.6 (2,664.0) million with an annual decline of 69.3%. In particular, exports fell by 14.7% to $ 2.5 (2,578.0) million, with imports of $ 86 thousand.
