ArmInfo. Minister of Nature Protection of Armenia Artsvik Minasyan held a working meeting on the safe disposal of chemical waste at the Nairit plant.
As the press service of the Ministry of Nature Protection told ArmInfo, during the meeting it was announced that most of the chemicals will be sold to other companies. The remaining part will be burned in an environmentally friendly way. Some chemicals, according to experts, can be easily eliminated, and three types of salt water with organic compounds are difficult to liquidate.
First Deputy Minister of Nature Protection Erik Grigoryan proposed to present samples of this water to the Department of Chemical Technologies of the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Environmental Design of the National Polytechnic University of Armenia to check its composition and develop methods for liquidation.
Participants of the seminar decided to discuss this issue after receiving the results of laboratory studies.
