ArmInfo. Armenia will develop tools for the development of the information technology sphere. Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan sent the corresponding instructions to the members of the Government on October 5 at a meeting.
The Prime Minister noted that in the course of the international technological exhibition "Digitec expo - 2017" held recently, a large export potential of Armenia was again ascertained. At the same time, as the head of the Cabinet noted, it is obvious that small and medium-sized companies in the sphere offering new ideas and software solutions often need support. In particular, there is a need to conduct special trainings on upgrading skills in marketing and sales.
Taking into account the above, the prime minister instructed the head of the Ministry of Transport, IT communications, as well as the heads of the Center for Strategic Studies and the Development Fund of Armenia, to develop and submit to the government staff a program of necessary measures in this direction, indicating the appropriate tools. "In this sphere we have really great potential, but there are problems with the creation of an application product and its implementation, here we must support business," Karen Karapetyan said.
The total turnover of over 500 IT companies operating in Armenia has overcome the $ 600 million threshold. Over the past 7 months alone, the sphere recorded 30-35% growth.
