ArmInfo. The government of Armenia discussed the draft amendments to the Labor Code, which was developed on the basis of the instruction of Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan on April 27. As the press service of the government reports, it was reported that the project was submitted to interested departments, from which various comments and suggestions were received. After the final decision is made on them, the draft will be submitted to the Government and the National Assembly. During the meeting, discussions were held on individual items of the project. Prime Minister Karapetyan considered it necessary to further discuss the project with expert circles and international structures. "It should be in accordance with its regulations the program of the Government and modern approaches. The Labor Code is an important document that should lay the right foundation in the employer-employee relationship," Karen Karapetyan said.
On April 27, Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan said that the Cabinet plans to implement radical reform of the legislation regulating labor relations. According to him, recently the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs and the National Center for the Regulation of Legislation submitted proposals on amending the Labor Code. These proposals are designed to ease the administrative burden for employers. "Discussions of these projects showed that although these changes contain extremely necessary elements, but a deeper problem, the Labor Code needs a radical revision," Karen Karapetyan said. Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan instructed the ministers of labor and social issues and justice to form a joint working group and within 9 months to submit a draft of fundamental changes to the Labor Code of Armenia or a draft of a new Labor Code that will be in tune with the government program and modern European approaches.
