ArmInfo. The construction works on the section of the Yerevan- Sevan-Ijevan interstate highway have been completed. As the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Transport informs, the construction of the highway was carried out unprecedently quickly and qualitatively.
"High-quality works at the 36-57 km section (in the direction of Yerevan-Sevan) and in the 64-57 km section (in the direction of Sevan-Yerevan) of the Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan interstate highway are indicated by the results of laboratory analysis and assessment of technical control", the message of the Ministry of Transport, IT communication says. Vavil Martirosyan, the head of the department also expressed his satisfaction with the quality of the works.
Construction was supposed to begin in July, but, given the tourist flow and inconvenience to drivers, the work started on August 28. "The agreement was foreseen to finish the construction by the end of November 2017, however, as promised by road builders, the asphalt works of the site ended earlier than the deadline - October 10," the Ministry of Transport reported.
The traffic on the Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan interstate highway segment has been fully restored. Work is underway to decorate the road.
Earlier, on September 15, Minister of Transport, Communications and IT of Armenia Vahan Martirosyan told ArmInfo correspondent that construction works on the Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan interstate highway section are ahead of schedule for one month. "The equipment, which is used on the site, probably does not have analogues in Armenia, so the works are being carried out very quickly and qualitatively." At the end of September, we will completely finish the asphalting of the road, followed by its decoration, "Martirosyan said. The project, worth about 3.5 billion AMD, is fully funded from the state budget.
