ArmInfo. The volume of Russian  gas supplies to Armenia by 2018 will increase to 2.1 billion cubic  meters, Aleksey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee,  told journalists on October 24 in Yerevan.

The head of the company notes the tendency of gas consumption growth  in Armenia in 2017. In particular, in the first nine months of 2017,  by the corresponding period of 2016, gas supplies exceeded more than  200 million cubic meters. "This shows that the Armenian economy is  developing, as the growth of gas and electricity consumption is  always an economic growth, we are sure that the volumes of supplies  will grow from year to year," Miller said. In addition, the head of  the Russian "Gazprom" noted the increase in the volume of electricity  supplies to the Armenian market by the fifth block of the Hrazdan  Thermal Power Plant, owned by Gazprom. "The selection of electricity  already in the current period of time amounted to more than 700  million kWh, and by the end of 2017 will exceed 900 million kWh. As part of the gas distribution  system, 14,400 km of high, medium and low pressure gas pipelines and  auxiliary facilities are currently in operation.
