Yerevan and Aleppo are looking for ways to restore the former volume of trade and economic cooperation

ArmInfo. Consul General of Armenia in Aleppo Armen Sargsyan met with the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Aleppo Maj ad-Din Dabbach.

The press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo that a wide range of issues on restoring the former volumes of trade and economic cooperation, intensifying and deepening contacts between business circles was discussed at the meeting.  Sargsyan presented Armenia's trade and economic potential and investment opportunities, while noting that

Yerevan is a member of the Eurasian Economic Union, which in turn can open wide opportunities for Aleppo businessmen in establishing joint production and export of manufactured goods to the markets of the EAEC.

The parties discussed prospects for organizing joint trade and economic exhibitions. The proposal was made to provide the Armenian side with free territory for the organization of a permanent exhibition and sale of Armenian-made goods. The importance of deepening contacts between the businessmen of Armenia and Aleppo was stressed. In this context, it was noted that the Aleppo Chamber of Commerce is ready to send a delegation to Yerevan in order to explore opportunities for cooperation.  The possibility of signing a joint memorandum between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Armenia and the Chamber of Commerce of Aleppo was also discussed.
