ArmInfo. On November 22, Armenia marks the Day of the Birth of the AMD and the Day of the Banking Worker. On this day in 1993, the national currency was introduced into circulation in Armenia, and in 2003, on the decision of the government, the same day began to be considered a professional holiday for bank employees. On the Day of the Bank Employee, the Union of Armenian Banks and the Central Bank of Armenia congratulate bank employees.
The Armenian dram on November 22, 2017 has already turned 24 years old. The Central Bank of Armenia announced on that day the release of a collection 500-AMD composite banknote of the third generation with a circulation of 300 thousand pieces. In 2018, on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the currency, the Central Bank will put into circulation composite (hybrid) banknotes of the third generation of different denominations - 1000, 5000, 10000, 20000, 50000 and a new denomination of 2,000 AMD. The paper counterparts of these banknotes will be traded on the market until they are withdrawn as they wear out, and the same fate is prescribed for a banknote of 100 thousand AMD not included in the 3rd generation list.
"The large-scale and multifaceted development of the banking system dictates a balanced and purposeful approach. Today, the Armenian banking sector has exceptional opportunities to withstand challenges with subsequent strengthening of the achieved positions. Bankers with their professionalism and ability to enrich skills and knowledge will ensure the further development and stability of the banking system. I wish you new professional achievements, happiness, harmony in business and in your personal life!", with congratulations turned to bank employees Chairman of the Armenian Central Bank Artur Javadyan.
