Timur Urazaev: Turnover between Kazakhstan and Armenia increased by 38%

ArmInfo.The trade turnover  between Kazakhstan and Armenia increased by 38% this year, reaching $  2.6 million, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the  Republic of Armenia Timur Urazaev stated, Kazakh TV reports.

According to the ambassador, the positive dynamics continues to  strengthen, despite the negative trends in the global economy. At  present, Kazakhstan exports to Armenia the products of the  pharmaceutical, chemical industry, paper and cardboard products.  Armenia delivers to Kazakhstan jewelry, food products, stone and  gypsum.

Positive shifts, according to the diplomat, are also visible in the  sphere of private transfers to Armenia. On average, this figure is $  20-25 million per year, but in 2017 - the figure can significantly  increase. "This year, apparently, will even reach a record level,  because the statistics show the revival of economic activity.  I  think that by the end of the year we can witness that this volume of  private transfers will reach $ 40 million. Armenia, as a partner in  the Eurasian Union , is very active and ready to work not only in the  trade sphere, but also in investment. Today, Kazakhstan and Armenia  develop relations in all spheres. Possibility of participation of  Kazakhstan investors in the construction of road corridor through  Armenia elaboration of a multimodal logistics across  the Caspian Sea, as well as the construction of a special economic  zone Meghri, the head of the Kazakh diplomatic mission in Armenia  said.

Meanwhile, according to the National Statistical Service of Armenia,  the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Kazakhstan for Jan-Oct  of 2017 amounted to $ 6.8 million with an annual growth of 41.6%.  At  the same time, exports amounted to $ 3.9 million, a decline of 19.9%,  and imports - $ 2.9 million, an annual growth of 5.9 times.
