ArmInfo. The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies of Armenia made an explanation regarding the draft decision on the ban on import and re-registration of cars with right-hand drive.
In the statement of the Ministry of Transport, in particular, it is noted: "The law of Armenia" On the provision of road safety> found that there is a right-hand traffic in the republic ", and therefore" the draft decision proposes to allow the use of right-handed cars imported into the republic before April 1, 2018. there is, the owners of right-hand drive cars can continue to exploit them. The ban applies only to the import of right-hand drive vehicles."
The ministry emphasizes that the draft decision was prepared following discussions in the special commission with the participation of representatives of all departments interested in road safety.
At the same time, the explanation does not say a word about the fact that along with the importation into the country, re-registration of right-hand drive vehicles is also forbidden. In fact, the owner of such a machine can exploit it, but can not sell or change it.
Note that this decision caused a sharp discontent of the owners of right-hand drive vehicles. Currently, right-hand drive cars in Armenia make up 25-30% of the total number of cars.
