ArmInfo. Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan, on the eve of the New Year, proposed to the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition to strengthen control over the dominant companies in the market. According to him, during the New Year holidays, due to the sharp economic activity, the demand for consumer goods is several times higher.
The latter, as the head of government pointed out, contains certain risks of unreasonable increase in the value of goods. Taking into account this circumstance and the fears existing in the society, in order to avoid unreasonable increase of the value of goods and with the purpose of preventing anticompetitive actions, Karen Karapetyan suggested to the chairman of the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition of Armenia Artak Shaboyan to strengthen control over the dominant companies in the market. He also proposed daily monitoring of price changes for rapid response and the use of effective methods in case of problems.
