ArmInfo. Armenian Prime minister Karen Karapetyan met, Chief Executive Officer of VEON Jean-Yves Charlier and Group Chief External Affairs Officer Mark MacGann in the framework of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
According to the source, during the meeting, Karen Karapetyan noted that Armenia appreciated the cooperation with VEON and expressed the hope that the company would expand activity and increase investments in Armenia.
Armenian prime minister said: "We see many positive changes and expect more in the future. I believe that global companies like VEON can have a positive impact on the Armenian business culture and contribute to the economical and digital growth".
Jean-Yves Charlier, Chief Executive Officer of VEON, said: "We are optimistic in regard to Armenia and the region and we believe it is becoming more attractive for foreign investors. As to VEON, our goal is providing the highest quality services to all our customers, including those in Armenia".
VEON CEO also added he would pay another visit to Armenia soon.
The parties also touched upon the Digital Agenda run by the Armenian government, stressing its importance in the development of the country's economy. VEON senior managers expressed satisfaction with the results they had in 2017. Charlier and MacGann also remarked commitment to Armenia business.
