ArmInfo. Roskachestvo started checking brandy, sold in Russian stores. The study was launched on behalf of the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Khloponin. This is reported by the press service of the organization.
To check the experts will anonymously purchase cognac of 50 trademarks produced in different regions of Russia, as well as in France, Georgia, Moldova and Armenia. The research will involve both world brands (Ararat, Martel, Courvoisier, Hennessy), and domestic brands (Kinovsky, Three Stars, Koktebel, Elder, Dagestan,).
According to the source, experts will test alcohol on safety and authenticity indicators, strengths, concentrations of sugars, aldehydes, methyl alcohol content and toxic elements. Also, cognac is examined for the presence of flavors and colorants, water hardness, packaging and alcohol grade. The check will be carried out only those products, based on cognac alcohol, and not wheat or potato, which is used by unscrupulous producers of alcoholic beverages.
