The Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies Vahan Martirosyan received the Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Industry Minister of Belarus Dmitry Korchik the day before. Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Armenia Igor Nazaruk also attended the meeting. According to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Transport, the delegation included representatives of a number of Belarusian companies operating in the field of road construction, servicing production and automation of transport systems.
Vahan Martirosyan, welcoming the guests, expressed his hope that, following the results of the meeting, ways of establishing cooperation in these areas will be outlined. The Minister presented guests current and planned programs in the field of road construction. Vahan Martirosyan outlined ways of possible cooperation with Belarusian companies. In particular, he noted 70 km. a construction project with complex infrastructures in the southern section of the investment program of the North-South road corridor, which is planned to be implemented in the format of public-private partnership. The head of the Ministry of Transport of Armenia also named the project on the introduction of a unified transport network in Armenia.
The Belarusian delegation, in turn, presented a system designed by the company from Belarus, which assumes a fully automated payment system for fare using contactless cards. The system allows you to manage routes and increase their productivity. The company offers not only a software solution, but also the necessary equipment for furniture transport.
Note that according to the National Statistical Service Armenia, the trade turnover between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Belarus for 12 months of 2017 amounted to $ 44.6 million, with an annual growth of 21.5%. At the same time, exports fell 48.3%, to $ 6.9 million, and imports grew by 61.7% to $ 37.7 million.
