ArmInfo. On March 23, a production workshop for processing fruits and raspberries was opened in Aragats community of Aragatsotn region, which was based on grants from the German Embassy in the amount of 7 thousand euros.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia, jam and juices from raspberries, cherries, pears, pumpkins and plums are planned to be manufactured in the new production workshop. The daily production will be up to 100 kg. "This is an excellent opportunity not only to create new jobs, but also to sell agricultural products of local farmers," the ministry said in an official statement.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Armenia Bernhard Matthias Kiesler. In his welcoming speech, he stressed: "I am confident that the launch of this production will help farmers to increase their income."
According to the source, the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fund for Agricultural Development David Babayan, the Head of the Development Programs of the Aragatsotn region World Vision Armenia Tamara Barbakadze, the residents of the Aragats community and other guests were also present at the opening of the processing unit.
