ArmInfo.The Russian Railways and the Federal Tariff Service of the Russian Federation approved discounts for the carriage of goods along the route Port Caucasus - Poti for 2019 in the amount of up to 50%. It should be noted that the ferry cargo transportation on the route  Port Kavkaz-Poti took on a regular character only in February 2017  due to a significant increase in cargo traffic, however, recently,  the ferry's management has again switched its work to "in fact" mode.  This circumstance causes natural dissatisfaction on the part of the  business community of Armenia, and due to ignorance of the  circumstances of the case, it is not rare that direct accusations are  addressed to SCR, although the ferry, as is well known, belongs to  completely different legal entities and has no strict obligations to  either the railway carrier or before the Republic of Armenia. The  issue of engaging a ferry that would serve the strategic interests of  Armenia, regardless of market conditions, has been under  consideration for over 10 years, but has not been resolved.

According to the statement of the press service of the SCR, nothing  significant in the work of the SCR as regards the departure from the  port of Kavkaz-Poti has changed. , The company said.

The company reminds that in 2017 the volume of cargo transportation  through the Caucasus-Poti railway ferry service amounted to 590  wagons (35 thousand tons), which is 0.9% of the total import and  export traffic in the Republic of Armenia by all means of transport  (excluding the main) .

It should be noted that the SCR carries out concession management of  the Armenian railways. The railway infrastructure of Armenia was  transferred to the concession management of SCR CJSC according to the  agreement signed on February 13, 2008 by the concession agreement.  The term of concession management is 30 years with the right to  prolong for another 10 years.
