"MTS Armenia" tops the list of largest taxpayers among communications  providers in Armenia

The four  communications services providers of Armenia for the first 9 months  of 2018 paid a total of 16.4 billion drams or $ 34 million to the  state budget as taxes, which is 16.3% less than a year ago. Of this  amount, 7.2 billion was received by the state treasury on direct  taxes (including income tax, tax on profit) and 8.4 billion on  indirect taxes (including VAT, excise tax). This is evidenced by the  data published by the State Revenue Committee of Armenia.

MTS Armenia (VivaCell-MTS trademark) is the leader on the list of  largest taxpayers among telecom operators in Armenia, occupying the  14th position (against the 12th a year earlier) in the general list  of the 1000 largest taxpayers in the country. For 9 months of 2018,  MTS Armenia paid 6.9 billion drams to the state treasury, of which  50.1 million drams were for customs duties, 1.9 billion drams were  for direct taxes (including income tax, tax on profit) , 2.9 billion  drams - on indirect taxes (including VAT, excise tax).

UCom, which allocated 4.3 billion drams to the budget as taxes, of  which 74.4 million drams are customs duties, 1.5 billion drams are  direct (including income tax, tax on profit) and 2.7 billion drams -  indirect taxes (including VAT, excise tax), ranked the 23rd in the  list of 1000 largest taxpayers against the16th position a ayear ago.

VEON Armenia Holdings B.V. (BeeLine trademark), which allocated 4.2  billion drams to the budget in the form of taxes, of which 1.2  billion - direct (including income tax, tax on profit) and 2.1  million - indirect (including VAT , excise tax), the payment of  customs duties amounted to 26.2 million drams, ranked 26th in the  general list of the top 1000 taxpayers, up from 14th a year earlier.

JNC Alpha (Rostelecom trademark), paid 949.7 million drams to the  budget, of which 8.8 million drams - on customs duties, 343 million -  on direct taxes (including income tax, tax on profit) and 606.6  million - indirectly (including VAT, excise tax), taking 133rd place  in the general list of 1000 top taxpayers, against 163rd a year  earlier.

To recall, in the first 9 months of 2017, the four telecommunications  operators paid a total of 19.6 billion drams to the budget through  taxes, of which 7.5 billion drams by MTS Armenia (VivaCell-MTS  trademark). (The estimated exchange rate of dram as of Sep 30, 2018  was 482.71 AMD / $ 1).
