ArmInfo.RUSAL intends to restore production at the Armenal plant in Yerevan. About this in an interview with Reuters, said CEO Yevgeny Nikitin. "As for Armenia, the markets will be restored, respectively, production will be returned to previous levels," the general director said.
He also said that the key task of the company for the current year will be to return to the contracts that were until April 2018. "Accordingly, we set a goal for the next year to be no less, and in the next five years we plan to increase this share to 60% or more. The general director stressed that for the current year, the volume of investments will amount to $ 900 million. To note, statistics data indicate a restoration of production at the ARMENALl plant, which is part of the RUSAL network. If in January of this year, the company produced about 2,100 tons of aluminum foil, in February this figure rose to 2,600 tons. Accordingly, the volume of exports has increased.
Washington in January lifted sanctions from the Russian aluminum giant RUSAL and its subsidiaries, including the Armenal plant, which had been under pressure for nine months.
