ArmInfo. The cost of gas engine fuel at gas filling stations in Armenia increased on average to 310 drams per kilogram. Head of Market Surveillance Inspectorate Armen Kotolyan said this at a government meeting on May 10.
According to him, the department headed by him conducted research at the gas filling station and found out that after legislative changes, the cost of a kilogram of automobile gas from 270 drams increased to 310 drams. This is due to the fact that the stations no longer have the opportunity to deceive consumers using the mechanism of selling gas engine fuel in kilograms, and not in terms of volume. At the same time, the use of this mechanism has given some advantages to consumers who have begun to receive fuel for their vehicles in full. He noted that as a result of the inspections, it turned out that 70% of all gas filling stations comply with current standards, and only 30% have problems.
In turn, RA Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan reminded about the increase in excise tax rates, which, however, were rounded down. In this case, as the minister explained, it is about changing the unit of measurement, and not about the size of payments. "Conventionally, 200 kilograms of gas could have different weights," the Finance Minister noted.
Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia David Ananyan agreed with this and pointed out the use of the coefficient 7.1 in determining the density of gas. And if earlier the amount per ton of gas was 25 thousand drams, then with the use of the new coefficient it should have amounted to 34.8 thousand drams. However, the government rounded this amount, lowering it to 34 thousand drams. David Ananyan stressed that in a number of cases of abuse cases were initiated that are in the process of judicial proceedings.
RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in response, noted that most of the gas filling stations are owned by persons who in some other form participated in political activities. They even had a monopoly position in the market and today continue their activities, according to the tradition established for them. "It is necessary to address this issue very seriously. It is possible that we are even lingering, which causes public criticism," the head of government emphasized.
To recall, earlier Head of Market Surveillance Inspectorate Armen Kotolyan , noted that the outlined trend of rising prices is a manifestation of abuse. The whole problem, he noted, rests on the density of gas, which is monitored in daily mode. In recent years, the gas density was 7.1, however, already for 2-3 months, Gazprom Armenia has been providing automobile gas with a density of 7.9. The economic entities were supposed to make the appropriate changes to their programs, but they did not. As a result, consumers paid more money. All gas stations have been instructed to implement gas density assessment programs as soon as possible and track them daily. Armen Kotolyan also noted that on February 15 the government approved amendments to the current legislation, according to which gas fuel should be sold in kilograms, and not by volume.
Gas density is one of its most important characteristics. Speaking about the density of a gas, one usually means its density under normal conditions (i.e., at a temperature of zero degrees and a pressure of 760 mm Hg). In addition, they often use the relative density of a gas, by which they mean the ratio of the density of a given gas to the density of air under the same conditions. The relative density of the gas does not depend on the conditions in which it is located, since, according to the laws of the gas state, the volumes of all gases change with changes in pressure and temperature equally. -sh-
