ArmInfo.Construction of a new metro bridge, as well as a cable way, is possible only with the participation of private investors. Chief Architect of Yerevan Artur  Meschyan announced this at today's press conference.

According to the calculations of the Chief Architect, by the end of  2019, the project will take a final look, and at the beginning of  2020 construction work will begin on the new Achapnyak station,  calling this area strategically important from the point of view of  the transport hub connecting several districts of the capital.

<The project will begin with the construction of a bridge, on which  the metro station will be built. And in the future, the entire  infrastructure will be directly connected with the provision of a  communication line to the "Barekamuyun" metro station. We face a  difficult task, given that the metro is a complex technical system. A  number of experts are working on its design, "said Meschyan,  admitting that there are many nuances associated with construction.

As the Architect explained, taking into account the difficult  financial situation, he and his team are developing alternative  models for implementing the wishes of Yerevan residents, in  particular, through <diplomatic maneuvering>.

<Unfortunately, the construction of the subway and the cable way,  these are the programs for which the municipality has no funds.  Therefore, by attracting several businessmen, in particular from  Russia, these projects will become a reality, "said Meschyan, without  becoming disclose the names of three investors.

According to the Architect, the project of the new metro line is  interesting and attractive from the point of view that in exchange  for the consent of the Yerevan Municipality to give permission to  build a shopping center in the area, businessmen undertake to build a  new metro station with their own funds.

Speaking about the revival of the cableway in the capital, Meschyan  noted that this project will also be implemented according to the  same logic, in exchange for permission to build a hotel complex near  Abovyan street, businessmen will make investments to create a  cableway, which, according to the Architect, will greatly facilitate  the 2nd Nor Nork transport line and the city central highway. The  construction work on the cable car will be completed this year,  construction will begin in 2020.

<In the future, this project will be continued with the expectation  that the cable way will be built to Victory Park, but our priority  today is the Nor Nork and the city center. I leave the logic of these  decisions to your discretion, but for us this is the only  alternative, "Meschyan concluded.
