ArmInfo. Germany is interested in the possibilities of cooperation with Armenia in a number of areas. This was announced during a meeting of Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments of the Republic of Armenia Mane Adamyan with a delegation of German MPs led by the Member of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) Faction of the German Bundestag, the Deputy Chairman of Germany-South Caucasus Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Steffen Kotre.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, the deputy minister briefly presented the course of economic reforms implemented in Armenia, the investment and business environment, and the current trade regimes. Members of the delegation expressed interest in the possibilities of cooperation with Armenia in the field of information technology, tourism and in a number of other areas.
According to the report, Mane Adamyan also noted that the organization of an Armenian investment forum in Germany with the assistance of the EU is expected this autumn. In this regard, the German side expressed its readiness to provide possible assistance to the implementation of this initiative.
To note, according to the RA Statistical Committee, the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Germany increased by 28% to 428 million in 2018. In particular, exports showed a growth of 2.2%, reaching 136.1 million, while import volumes increased by 45.1% up to 291.9 million
