ArmInfo.Armenian Minister of Economy Tigran Khachatryan met yesterday with a number of international donors implementing programs in the field of winemaking and viticulture.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, during the shirt- sleeve meeting, open discussions took place on the prospects for the further development of the field of winemaking and viticulture. The Executive Director of the Vine and Wine Foundation Zaruhi Muradyan, briefly presented the programs implemented in the field, pointing out the main problems and obstacles. The GIZ Country Director Anne Dorit Kempa presented initiatives implemented by the structure, among which an important component is education, and among the key points of these initiatives she identified assistance in the development of wine tourism.
The rector of the Armenian National Agrarian University, Vardan Urutyan, in turn, stressed the importance of improving agricultural education, training highly qualified specialists and effective use of scientific potential in this area.
The representatives of the wine companies present at the meeting shared their views on the role of the state in the sequential development of the wine industry.
