Armenia has improved its position in the Global Innovation Index 2019  by four points.

According to the source, the republic is on the 64th line of the  rating, which is 4 positions better than the previous year. In  addition, from 34 high-income countries of Armenia were on the 15th  position, while in 2018 the republic was included in the list of  middle-income countries. Compared to the previous year, the progress  of the country in such positions as "human capital and  investigations>," Institutes "," Infrastructure "," Streamlining the  market "," production of knowledge and technologies "is registered.   Positive trends in such areas as" Ease of starting a business, "ICT  access level", , ,  , and others.

The Global Innovation Index report in 2019 has a clear thematic focus  on health innovation and analyzes the innovation environment in  health care, considering the role of technological and  non-technological innovations in medical services.

This year, the top three are Switzerland, Sweden and the United  States.

Annual reports on the global innovation index have been compiled and  published since 2007 through the joint efforts of the World  Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Cornell University and the  International Business School INSEAD. The index describes the  innovative potential and indicators of the economies of 130 countries  of the world, using a specially developed methodology for ranking  countries based on 80 qualitative and quantitative indicators. The  data is collected and analyzed on the basis of reports published by  international organizations and institutions, government statistics,  information from the private sector and sociological surveys.
