ArmInfo. On September 10, Armenian Minister of Economy Tigran Khachatryan received a delegation led by head of the Armenian mission of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Deborah Grieser.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, during the meeting Khachatryan touched upon the assessment report "Diagnostics of inclusive growth" prepared by USAID. According to him, inclusiveness should become an important feature of the upcoming economic growth of the republic.
As the senior economists at the USAID Washington office, Paul Oliver and Joseph Spanjers, pointed out, the report deals mainly with the risks and problems that impede Armenia's inclusive growth.
To recall, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan on August 17, 2018 at a rally in Yerevan, which was dedicated to 100 days of his tenure, said that the existing economic model is unprofitable for the country, and it needs to be replaced with an inclusive system. This means that all citizens of the Republic of Armenia will have the same opportunities to engage in economic activity, the same access to resources, the same freedoms, and everyone will be equal before the law and tax authorities, "Pashinyan stated.
In February 2019, the Armenian government adopted a five-year program, where it was noted that the main goal of the government's economic policy would be to promote inclusive economic growth - the economy should grow rapidly, with the average economic growth rate of at least 5% over five years.
Already in September, in an interview with the French publication Nouvelled'Armenie, Nikol Pashinyan stated that the biggest achievement of the new government of Armenia after coming to power is that the country has moved from an oligarchic economy to an inclusive one, which makes it possible for everyone to do business.
