Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia Artak Kamalyan September 13 with GIZ expert Anna Lug and Executive Director of the Armenian Fund for Winemaking and Viticulture Zaruhi Muradyan discussed the concept of the "Cadastre of Grapes" program. The document was prepared by the Fund of Viticulture and Winemaking of Armenia.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, the goal of the program is to create a unified electronic information database, which will publish constantly updated data on grape seedlings, cultivation and purchase of crops, on stakeholders involved in warehousing and resale.
It is also planned to study the winemaking and cultural-historical features of viticulture in the context of micro and macro districts, to stimulate the development and implementation of a wine production system in geographical terms.
"The creation of a cadastre will allow us to inventory seedlings and existing grape varieties, as well as to establish control over the quality of wine products produced in the state. This is part of a set of measures aimed at developing viticulture and winemaking in Armenia, improving the quality of wine production and ensuring stable competition, as well as the fight against fraud in the field of ", - the agency said in a statement.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the distribution and control of grape seedlings, substantiated from an ampeloecological point of view, was accepted in international practice and was introduced in a number of countries known in the field of viticulture.
