ArmInfo. In the Tavush region of Armenia, the process of purchasing grapes has been completed. This was reported by the press service of the regional administration.
According to the source, the purchases were made by the Yerevan Brandy Factory, Ijevan Wine and Brandy Factory, Yerevan Champagne Wine Factory, Debedavan Winery, Berdavan Winery and Ecogarden LLC. In total, 6777 tons of grapes were purchased compared to 5761 tons last year. At the same time, purchases were made at a price of 150-160 drams per 1 kg.
To recall, a day earlier at a government meeting, the Deputy Minister of Economy Avag Harutyunyan reported that in the current year, grape purchases exceeded the previous year's figures by 37%. According to him, as of October 9, 160 thousand tons of grapes had already been purchased, of which 90 largest tons were purchased by the three largest harvesters. At the same time, the purchase price from last year's 14-145 drams per 1 kg this year increased to 150-155 drams.
The deputy minister noted that the season for the purchase of grapes for cognac production is nearing the end, as for grape raw materials for wine production, it is still envisaged to purchase about 3-5 thousand tons of grapes.
