ArmInfo.Ameriabank, adhering to its strategy of expanding its presence in the regions of Armenia, enlarges its network of regional branches. So, on October 15, the Echmiadzin branch was opened in the city of Echmiadzin in the Armavir Region, which became the 8th regional branch of Ameriabank. This branch, located at Echmiadzin, 69/51 Mashtots Street, will work from Monday to Friday inclusive from 09:30am to 5:00pm.
As Arman Barseghyan, Director of Retail Banking, Ameriabank told reporters, the Echmiadzin branch will provide services on favorable terms to those customers who open an account before January 31, 2020. Special rates will be offered to both individuals and legal entities.
"In case of opening an account, we will provide the newly created legal entities with Internet banking and mobile banking services, a business card with free service for the first year. And we will offer debit and credit cards to the heads of organizations, the first year of service of which will also be free," noted A. Barseghyan, adding that the individuals who opened accounts in this branch will also receive Internet banking and mobile banking services with free service for the first year and all types of cards (except Platinum and Infinite).
Regarding the expansion of Ameriabank's presence A. Barseghyan stressed that the emphasis is put not only on opening new branches in the capital, but also regional ones, with the provision of a wide range of services and products. "Recently, Ameriabank expanded its activities in the regions of Armenia, and the opening of a branch in the city of Abovyan, and today the Echmiadzin branch a few months ago, became part of this strategy. All branches of the bank are universal in terms of providing the full range of services and products by Ameriabank," A. Barseghyan stated.
He noted that since the beginning of 2019, the bank introduced new products to the market almost every month with an emphasis on digital services. "We were the first in Armenia to launch digital lending first for individuals and then for legal entities, providing the opportunity to receive online loans," he said, saying that the new offer that Ameriabank will make before the end of 2019 will allow the transfer of business loans into the digital environment. "This proposal is a significant innovative solution in the financial market, which, in terms of obtaining loans, will significantly speed up the process, and from the point of view of customers will increase the convenience of service," A. Barseghyan noted.
Mayor of Echmiadzin, Diana Gasparyan, who was present at the opening ceremony of the Ameriabank branch, emphasized that the presence of a banking branch is designed to stimulate economic activity in the city, facilitating access to financial services. "Thanks to the opening of the branch, now the residents of Echmiadzin will not have to travel to Yerevan to conduct banking operations. In addition, an agreement has been reached with the branch on supporting the life of our city community with small projects," she said.
In turn, the governor of the Armavir region Hambardzum Matevosyan noted that the new branch of Ameriabank is the first not only in the region he leads, but also in the entire economic zone of the Ararat valley, which is of key importance for Armenia. According to him, the bank will be able to provide substantial support in organizing programs to subsidize local businesses in the agricultural sector. "The branch will be able to simplify the process of securing co-financing and providing subsidies for residents of the region. It will also allow creating new jobs and activating various social programs," he noted.
It should be noted that Ameriabank has been operating in the Armenian market since October 31, 1996. The shareholders of Ameriabank as of July 1, 2019 are Ameria Group CY Ltd. - 56.53%, EBRD - 17.78%, Asian Development Bank - 13.96%, ESPS Holding Limited - 11.73%. Ameriabank's branch network, taking into account the newly opened Echmiadzin branch, has 19 branches, of which 11 are located in Yerevan and 8 are regional.
