ArmInfo.Tigran Gabrielyan, Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia, received representatives of Indian agricultural and engineering universities who arrived in Armenia to study the potential of bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture. The delegation includes Asif Iqbal, President of the Trade and Economic Organization of India.
As the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Armenia reports, during the meeting the guests presented the situation in the field of agriculture in India, its potential, development trends, work in the direction of digitizing the agricultural sector and the applied high technologies.
According to the delegation, promising areas of cooperation with Armenia, in particular, may include winemaking, ecotourism, and agricultural consulting.
The parties noted the importance of sharing experience in raising the educational level in the agricultural sector and retraining specialists in the field. It was proposed to explore the possibilities of joint development of scientific projects. They also touched upon the possibilities of implementing investment programs in the field of agriculture in Armenia.
"The interlocutors agreed to study in detail the most appropriate areas of bilateral cooperation and make relevant proposals and comments," the ministry said.
