"With the support of the World Bank, we have opened another regional social services center in Yerevan, which will serve more than 15000 citizens per year. It is very important for us to create decent working conditions for the citizen of Armenia. I am grateful to the WB for assistance in solving such an important task. We should have similar centers in all regions of Armenia, "said RA Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Zaruhi Batoyan at the opening ceremony of the center, the press service of the department informs.
World Bank representatives also praised the Ministry for its efforts to implement social reforms, emphasizing the importance of integrated social services. "Over the past decade, the World Bank has supported the provision of comprehensive social services in the country by creating such centers. We believe that the creation of a single regional agency will play a very important role in providing integrated social services," Sebastian Molineus, the World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus. noted.
It should be noted that the comprehensive system of social services includes the creation of 4 social services - territorial departments of social security, a regional employment center, a medical and social expert commission, a regional social assistance agency in one single place. It is supposed to combine the databases of the social protection sector and other departments through one system on one electronic platform, which will allow in real time to receive all available data describing the social status of a person and family. This will provide a comprehensive solution to individual needs in each specific situation when applying for social assistance.
Within the framework of the project supported by the World Bank, 9 regional departments of social services have already been built, 6 more are under construction, 6 are in the process of tender, 10 are at the design stage, 4 are in the process of developing documentation and determining their location.
