ArmInfo. This year, out of 483 applications for the implementation of subvention programs, 462 were implemented, and some will be completed in 2020. The total cost of subvention programs amounted to 16.4 billion drams, of which 9.6 billion drams accounted for the state. In 2020, the state budget provides for 10 billion drams for subvention programs. Minister of Territorial Development and Infrastructures of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan announced this on December 23 during the final press conference.
"Thanks to the implementation of subvention programs in the regions of Armenia, it was possible to fix significant achievements," he said.
In particular, as Papikyan noted, in 2019, 112 km of roads were paved as part of subvention programs, irrigation systems were implemented in 32 communities, 41 drinking water supply programs were implemented, gasification was carried out in 16 communities, and energy-saving programs were implemented in 58 communities lighting systems. In addition, 65 roofs of multi-unit buildings were repaired and issues related to the modernization of elevators were resolved in 15 communities. Regarding renewable energy, including the installation of photovoltaic panels, the minister noted that 12 subvention programs were implemented.
At the same time, Papikyan recalled that in the 5-year government program it was indicated that during this period 70% of the Armenian communities should have kindergartens. In this regard, he said that in 2019, as part of the subvention programs, it was possible to carry out major repairs in 25 kindergartens. Papikyan also noted that starting from 2018, heating systems and windows were updated in 20 schools. "This is a very important achievement for our rural communities," the minister emphasized.
As part of the community enlargement program, according to Papikyan, 57 units equipments were delivered, including trucks and garbage trucks, as well as tractors. In this connection, he noted that the process of community enlargement will end in 2021.
